1999

The 1999 Corvette promos were manufactured by both AMT-Ertl and Revell.

AMT-Ertl made both coupes and convertibles in 1999. There weren't any notable body or interior changes from 1998 to 1999. The coupe bodies were only molded in red metallic plastic and not painted. The convertible bodies were only molded in dark blue metallic plastic and not painted. The side mirrors and front and rear bumpers were all separate pieces and permanently attached to the body. The red metallic coupes were shipped with a removable roof panel. The interior tub, seats, seat backs, dash, shifter, steering wheel and steering column were all separate pieces and not painted. These parts were glued together to form the interior assembly. The interior assembly and clear plastic windows were inserted underneath the body over 3 plastic pins. These plastic pins were then melted to hold the interior and windows in place. The rear license plate was molded into the rear bumper and read "1999". The front license plate read "CORVETTE". The coupes had the same style 5 spoke wheel as the 1997-1998 coupes and they were molded in silver plastic. The convertibles had silver wheels with 5 thinner spokes that resembled the optional magnesium wheels. The blackwall tires had "GOODYEAR" "EAGLE F1" molded into the sidewall. The black plastic chassis was the same as the 1997-1998s and had a 5 digit code printed in small type. The first 4 digits indicated the Julian date of manufacture (Example: "0879Q" = 87th day of 1999). The chassis was attached to the body with 4 black philips head screws.

Revell only made convertibles in 1999. Although they looked very similar to the AMT/Ertl versions, they were completely different. The bodies were molded as 1 piece of black plastic. The "1999" rear license plate was a separate piece and glued to the body before it was painted. All 1999 Revell Corvette promos were painted "Light Pewter Metallic". The side mirrors were separate pieces and permanently attached to the body. The interior tub, seats, seat backs, dash, shifter, door panels and steering wheel were all separate pieces and not painted. These parts formed the interior assembly. The clear plastic windshield and interior assembly were inserted into the underside of the body. The front license plate read "CORVETTE". The 5 spoke wheels were chrome plated. The blackwall tires had "GOODYEAR" "EAGLE F1" molded into the sidewall (similar to the AMT/Ertl versions, but different). The chassis was molded in black plastic and had "1999 CORVETTE" "USED UNDER LICENSE" printed on the passenger side. The chassis was attached to the body with 4 black philips/straight head screws.

Boxes: The 1999 AMT-Ertl Corvette promos came in black window boxes. These window boxes had the promo wired to a cardboard tray inside. The tray was car specific because it had the AMT-Ertl number printed in the corner. There was a five digit impression on the bottom of the box. The first four digits indicated the Julian date the promo was packaged (Example: "1059Q" = 105th day of 1999).

The 1999 Revell Corvette promos came in blue window boxes. These window boxes had the promo wired to a cardboard tray inside.
