2003

The 2003 Corvette promos were manufactured by Revell. There were 3 different bodies styles offered this year: coupes, convertibles and Z06 hardtops. The Z06 hardtop bodies were unchanged from 2002 to 2003. There was a change to the emblems on the nose and rear deck of the coupe and convertible bodies. The emblems were no longer molded in; they were just decals. All three body styles were molded as 1 piece of plastic with separate mirrors. The rear license plate was a blank separate piece that was glued to the body. The convertible bodies were molded in either white or maroon plastic. The white convertible bodies were painted "Medium Spiral Gray Metallic". The maroon convertible bodies were painted "Anniversary Red Metallic". The coupe bodies were molded in either white or maroon plastic. The white coupe bodies were painted "Electron Blue Metallic". The maroon coupe bodies were painted "Anniversary Red Metallic". The Z06 hardtop bodies were molded in black plastic and clear coated. All of the "Anniversary Red Metallic" cars were detailed with "50th Anniversary" emblems. Some of the "Anniversary Red Metallic" coupes also received Indy Pace Car graphics with a "CORVETTE" windshield banner. These Indy Pace Cars had a "50th Anniversary" logo on a white rear license plate. The other "Anniversary Red Metallic" cars had a "50th Anniversary" logo on a black rear license plate. The coupes and convertibles received new style seats that had finer vertical pleats and an opening in the backrest. The Z06 hardtop seats were the same as the previous year, except they were two-toned red and black. The interior tub, seats, seat backs, dash, shifter, door panels and steering wheel were all separate pieces. These parts formed the interior assembly. The clear plastic windows and interior assembly were inserted into the underside of the body. The front license plate read "CORVETTE". The rear license plate on the black Z06 hardtops, gray convertibles and blue coupes was a "2003" decal (on a blank body colored plate). The blue coupes and gray convertibles used the same style chrome plated wheels as the 2000-2002s. These wheels had 5 thin spokes and resembled the optional high polished wheels. The "Anniversary Red Metallic" cars used the same style wheel but with a silver-gold finish. The Z06 hardtops received gray Z06 style wheels. The blackwall tires had "GOODYEAR" "EAGLE F1" molded into the sidewall (all 1999-2003 Revell Corvette promos had the same style tire). The chassis was the same as the 2002s, except it was printed "2003 CORVETTE" "USED UNDER LICENSE". The chassis was attached to the body with 4 black philips/straight head screws.

Boxes: The 2003 Corvette promos came in various boxes. The Indy Pace Cars came in blue window boxes. The 50th Anniversary cars came as a 2 car set in a large blue window box. Some 50th Anniversary convertibles were repackaged individually (in white boxes). The black Z06 hardtops, blue coupes and gray convertibles came in white boxes with black artwork. No matter which style box, the promo was wired to a cardboard tray inside.

Note: The interiors of Revell C5 Corvette promos are very easy to interchange. This website shows all the factory interior/exterior combinations for 1999-2004 Revell Corvette Promos. Any combination not shown on this website was altered after it left the factory.
