2001

The 2001 Corvette promos were manufactured by Revell. There were 3 different bodies styles offered this year: coupes, convertibles and Z06 hardtops. The convertible and coupe bodies were unchanged from 2000 to 2001. There were a few changes to the hardtop body to make it resemble a Z06. Those changes include: air ducts were added in front of the rear wheels, "Z06" emblems were added to both front fenders and the nose and rear deck emblems were enlarged and molded into the body. All three body styles were molded as 1 piece of plastic with separate mirrors. The "2001" rear license plate was a separate piece and glued to the body before it was painted (or clear coated). The convertible bodies were molded in either white or black plastic. The white convertible bodies were painted "Speedway White". The black convertible bodies were clear coated. The Z06 hardtop bodies were molded in either yellow or red plastic and clear coated. The coupe bodies were molded in either black or yellow plastic and clear coated. Some of the clear coated yellow coupe bodies were two-toned white and detailed as Daytona Pace Cars with a "CORVETTE" windshield banner. The coupe and convertible interiors were unchanged from the previous year. The Z06 hardtops received different seats that had finer vertical pleats and "Z06" printed on the headrests. The rest of the Z06 interior was like the coupes and convertibles. The interior tub, seats, seat backs, dash, shifter, door panels and steering wheel were all separate pieces. These parts formed the interior assembly. The clear plastic windows and interior assembly were inserted into the underside of the body. The front license plate read "CORVETTE". The coupes and convertibles used the same style chrome plated wheels as the 2000s. These wheels had 5 thin spokes and resembled the optional high polished wheels. The Z06 hardtops received chrome plated Z06 style wheels. The blackwall tires had "GOODYEAR" "EAGLE F1" molded into the sidewall (all 1999-2003 Revell Corvette promos had the same style tire). The chassis was very similar to the 2000s. The notable differences were the exhaust outlets were changed from an oval shape to round and the printing read "2001 CORVETTE" "USED UNDER LICENSE". The chassis was attached to the body with 4 black philips/straight head screws.

Boxes: Most of the 2001 Corvette promos came in white boxes with black artwork. The red Z06 hardtops were only available in a blue 2 car window box (with a red 1963 coupe). No matter which style box, the promo was wired to a cardboard tray inside.

Note: The 2001 "Millennium Yellow" Corvette coupe promos and the 2001 "Black" Corvette convertible promos were not available at Chevrolet dealers nationwide.

Note: The interiors of Revell C5 Corvette promos are very easy to interchange. This website shows all the factory interior/exterior combinations for 1999-2004 Revell Corvette Promos. Any combination not shown on this website was altered after it left the factory.

Note: Revell also made a 2001 Corvette Z06 Snap Kit. This kit assembled just like a promo. It's located in the "Snap Kits" section of this website.
