1995The 1995 Corvette promos were manufactured by AMT-Ertl. There were both convertibles and ZR-1 coupes made in 1995. The only notable body change from 1994 to 1995 was to the lower front fenders. The 4 horizontal vents were replaced with 5 that had a rear facing scoop at the leading edge. Both body styles were molded as one piece of plastic with a separate hood. The underside of the hood had 2 plastic pins. These plastic pins slid into 2 alignment holes in the main body. The hood was held in place with the front chassis screws. The ZR-1 coupe bodies were molded in yellow, white, dark purple metallic or red plastic and were not painted (or clear coated). There were 2 versions of white ZR-1 coupe bodies. One version had a rear license plate that read "1995". The other version had a blank rear license plate. There were also 2 versions of red ZR-1 coupe bodies. One version had a rear license plate that read "1995". The other version read "LAST ZR-1". The convertible bodies were molded in dark purple, yellow or black plastic. There were 2 versions of convertible bodies. The black and yellow bodies had a rear license plate that read "1995" and they were not painted (or clear coated). The dark purple metallic bodies had a blank rear license plate. These dark purple metallic convertibles were all 2 toned white below the body side molding and received Indy Pace Car graphics, a "CORVETTE" windshield banner and a red Chevy bow-tie on the rear license plate. There were no interior changes from 1994 to 1995. The ZR-1 coupes had "sport seats" while the convertibles had standard seats. The interior tub, seats, dash, shifter and steering wheel were all separate pieces and not painted. These parts were glued together to form the interior assembly. The clear plastic windows and interior assembly were inserted into the underside of the body. Only the wheels were chrome plated. The tail lights were translucent red plastic. The front license plate read "CORVETTE". The yellow and black convertibles had the same style wheels as the 1991-1994 convertibles. The ZR-1 coupes and the Indy Pace Car convertibles received the 5 spoke wheels. The blackwall tires had "GOODYEAR" "EAGLE GS-C", the directional rotation and tire size molded into the sidewall. The black and yellow convertibles had P255/45ZR17 front tires and P285/40ZR17 rear tires. The ZR-1 coupes and Indy Pace Car convertibles had P285/40ZR17 front tires and P315/35ZR17 rear tires. The convertible chassis was unchanged from the previous year. Most ZR-1 coupes used the same chassis as the previous year. The exception was the "LAST ZR-1" coupes had a slightly different chassis. This chassis had a hole in the middle of the exhaust. The hole was used to attach the "LAST ZR-1" promo to a cardboard tray for shipping. All 1995 Corvette promos had the chassis attached to the body with 4 black philips head screws. Boxes: Most of the 1995 Corvette promos were packaged individually in white corrugated boxes with AMT-ERTL printed on 2 sides and instructions printed on one side. The boxes had a white label attached to the end. The label indicated the Ertl #, year, model and color. The boxes had a 4 digit number stamped on the side. This was the Julian date of manufacture (Example: "0205" = 20th day of 1995). The Indy Pace Car convertibles and most of the Torch Red "LAST ZR-1" coupes came in larger black window boxes. These window boxes had the promo attached to a cardboard tray inside. The tray was car specific because it had the AMT-Ertl number printed in the corner. There was a five digit impression on the bottom of the Indy Pace Car boxes. The first four digits were the Julian date of manufacture (Example: "0935o" = 93rd day of 1995). The "Last ZR-1" boxes had a four digit number stamped on the inside of the box flap. This was the Julian date of manufacture (Example: "2055" = 205th day of 1995). Some 1995 Corvette promos were also packaged in large multi-car boxes. There was a large multi-car box with three different 1995 ZR-1 coupes (Competition Yellow, Dark Purple Metallic and Torch Red "LAST ZR-1"). There was a large multi-car box with a 1995 Black convertible and 1998 Black coupe. There was a large multi-car box with a 1995 Competition Yellow convertible and 1994 Dodge Viper. Note: The 1995 Arctic White ZR-1 and Torch Red "Blueprinter" ZR-1 promos were not available at Chevrolet dealers nationwide. Note: The interiors of C4 Corvette promos are very easy to interchange. This website shows all the factory interior/exterior combinations for 1984-1996 Corvette Promos. Any combination not shown on this website was altered after it left the factory.
